I believe that I enact this area of scholarship in the following ways:

  • I have been a member of the Curriculum Committee of the school since its inception. I recently served a term as chair as well. I have been a member of many committees within the school of Nursing and also currently sit on a regional Simulation committee as well as a Lab Redesign committee at Fleming.
  • I have been a contributing member to the Provincial ehealth committee that created guidelines for faculty on how to incorporate ehealth information into curriculum.
  • I participated in a National CASN committee creating a position statement on Clinical Education.
  • I attend the open house sessions at Trent and Fleming College to recruit new students into the program.
  • I also write a monthly health related column for one of the local papers in my area. You will see my column offerings listed as my thoughts.
  • I have attended  Higher Education Council on Quality Education sessions.
  • I participate in sessions with the Council of Ontario University Nursing Programs in which we discuss common issues amongst Schools of Nursing. These meetings occur three times in an academic year.
  • I participate in the annual CASN meetings.
  • I have applied to work with my local service club to conduct a survey on how to engage local youth in our rural community in service activities.
